The July Consumer Confidence index from the long-running GfK NOP survey fell for a fifth month in July, by three points to -22.

Consumer confidence has reached its highest level for a year.

According to the monthly confidence index produced by GfK NOP, confidence moved up three points to -27, 10 points up since January and 12 points above the survey's lowest ever level of -39 last July.

It is the third month in a row that confidence has risen.
