Unemployment youngsters will be able to apply for thousands of new "socially useful" jobs in education, tourism and sport under a £1bn scheme announced by the Government.

The 47,000 Government-created posts will last for six months and be made available to 18 to 25-year-olds who have been out of work for around a year or more.
