Retailer Pets at Home has been sold to private equity house Kohlberg Kravis Roberts in a £955m deal.

Private equity house Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) is to acquire Pets at Home, the UK’s leading retailer of pet food and pet-related services and accessories, from Bridgepoint, another private equity firm, in a deal totalling £955 million.

Pets at Home, the pet product retailer, has appointed J P Morgan Cazenove to advise the firm on a stockmarket flotation, which would be likely to take place next year “subject to market conditions”.
