Andy Bell, managing director of Salford-based pensions management firm AJ Bell, has become the second-biggest shareholder in Super League champions St Helens' RLFC, after buying a 16.4 per cent stake in the club for an undisclosed sum.

Bell, who originally hails from Rainford, sold a minority stake in his group of companies for £14 million to Midas Capital Partners in February.
